Since you're in the Chicago area, Abby, you might be interested to know that Laurie Halse Anderson will be in Chicago in a few weeks. Laurie will be at the Book Stall in Winnetka, IL on Saturday 10/25 at 1:00 pm for a teacher's program; at the Center for Teaching through Children's Books at National-Louis University in Skokie on Sunday, 10/26 from 2-4 pm, and at Anderson's in Naperville on Wednesday, 10/20 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Just in case you wanted to meet her... One children's literature consultant told me that she heard her speak at a conference and those ten minutes changed her life!
